Save-The-Date Photo Shoot :P

We got our save-the-dates in! Dana and I decided to work with Hawthorne House in Occoquan to make our custom save-the-dates :) It was a lot of fun working with the wonderful ladies there. I highly recommend them for any invitations or any other paper products you may need. Dana and I really love owls for some reason, and the wonderful ladies at Hawthorne House even found us a little owl to incorporate in the design. See if you can find him!

I had kinda got carried away with my camera. Our save-the-dates had their own personal photo shoot...haha (as you can see)...

Even Fin wanted to get his picture with the pretty card....

So, as a way to save money, we decided to assemble the save-the-dates ourselves. They did the printing and ordered the special paper, we get to stick everything together and ended up saving about $100.00!! Not too bad huh?!

Here are the parts

Awesome sticky tape...love that stuff!

Workin' hard!

Isn't he handsome?!  : P

Finished product...so happy with it! So keep your eye out! You'll be getting yours soon : P
More to come!...

Decorations Galore

... finally an update! After finishing last semester's 21 credits, and job...I'm glad to finally have time to focus just on my school work, which allows me to finally UPDATE our site :P

My Mom has been working on our "country-vintage" theme. Here are some decorations we've (mostly she's) come up with! Here's just a taste of what you'll see...!

Here is the ribbon we choose and in the back is the color for the bridesmaid dresses. It looks brown, but it's really a green color that's called "fern". It's really pretty in person and we think it will go well with the fall colors we will use.

This was the only "warm" color available in the only style of dress I liked...so, we're going with it...!

Here's the bridesmaid dress...My Mom tried it on for me to see...isn't she pretty!!?(Taken by my cell)

This will be our "card" box ...it's my Mom's

I like the "eclectic" look...we're doing every table different, with little things here & there..

I loved these.....so cute...we'll put candles in them; not sure if we'll hang them or leave them sitting...

We'll have real mini pumpkins though...but you get the idea...!

I'm really excited about these...they're like the ones in Macaroni Grill..we'll string them outside on the big oak trees on the front lawn to fancy up the cocktail hour :P

One of Mom's wonderful creations

We'll add fresh flowers for the wedding...My Mom's so great!

My candy bar containers! Almost done....You can't tell, but some of them are different colors slightly (Taken by my cell)

Dana & I were in an antique store last fall & saw these blue pumpkins! So I was thinking about getting some of those since their so unique and cool! I just loved them!

Here's some white ones we saw too...So, I think we'll do blue, orange & white...! LOVE <3

I love these flowers-their my favorite in the whole world! They're called "Rununckulous" & I bought them for my Mom for Mother's Day

They come in different colors-these are a combination of flowers Dana brought over & Mother's Day...aww : P

So, those are a sample of some of the decorations we've been putting together...but there is still so much to do! My Mom has also bought a bunch of antique lace to drape over the tables. I think it will be pretty....More to come!!! (and hopefully sooner than later!)

We're getting MARRIED!

Dana and I are so excited to get married in October. We're hoping that the weather will be beautiful...not too hot, not too cold. I must say, it was a bit difficult picking a location! Everywhere in Northern Virginia is SO EXPENSIVE! I couldn't come to grips with just how much it was on just a location, so we decided to go south a bit! I actually am way happier with the Ashland location than the really expensive locations in northern va. So it worked out perfect!!!

Dana and I have decided that we want our wedding "theme" to be a fall/vintage style wedding. Since we're having the ceremony and reception in Ashland, VA, I think it will be a beautiful fit. Here's a picture of the church we're getting married at:

Ashland Presbyterian Church

It's a really cute church, with a lovely sanctuary and historic feel! We both loved it! Plus, it's steps away from the reception location at the Hanover Arts and Activities Center, just across the train tracks!

Hanover Arts & Activities Center-Reception Site!

We're going to have the cocktail hour and appetizers outside on the lawn that is a good size...I think it will be really nice :) The inside of this place is gorgeous! Ashley had her reception here and it was really beautiful! The history of this building is really interesting. It used to be a Church, then a hospital for the Civil War, then the activities center. It really gives us the historic/vintage feel we're going for.
